Even if your site happens to unique and stands out of the crowd, people may simply not find time to visit. The only way to keep people aware of your forum is to stay in touch with them consistently. Your forum can also be considered a mailing list, as you would certainly have gotten their emails when they registered. It’s a good idea, for example, to create a regular newsletter related to your forum so people get used to hearing from you.
Be persistent in your approach and practice patience. If you really want to get things rolling, then construct a massive social marketing campaign. If you want to make this into something, then that implies you are in it for the long haul. It always takes some time for a market to find out about you, and then you have to show them you are an authority and serious. You have to be dedicated to your forum and your business at all times.
